Accessible Video

Image
In today's world, media is a very important part of everyday life. Media content must reach every person, including those who are visually or hearing impaired. By adding things such as subtitles or sound effects to help the audience better understand the message, we are able to reach a larger audience and make things easier for people with these disabilities.  Audio Only  Here I have linked my "Planning a Trip To Disney World" video with the visuals turned off. This will give some sense of what the video would be like to those who are visually impaired.  Visuals Only  Here I have linked the video with the audio turned off. This will give some sense of what the video would be like to those who are hearing impaired.  Audio and Visual  Here I have linked the video with everything as normal. This will simply show how the video looks when everything is put together.

Disney World Commercial

When creating commercials, it is important to gear them towards all audiences. For the hearing-impaired or visually-impaired, there are sound effects or captions one could add in order to help them better understand what is happening in the commercials.  Walt Disney World Commercial  What a surprise, I decided to do something Disney related again. Here I decided to take a look at this commercial and see how accessible it is to hearing and visually impaired viewers.  For the Visually-Impaired  This commercial does a decent job of being accessible to the visually-impaired audience. They include sound effects such as twinkling, which adds a sense of "magic" and a howling wolf, which portrays the haunted mansion. The commercial also includes a narration, which is beneficial because it explains the purpose of the commercial, which is the year of a million dreams event occurring at Disney parks. However, the commercial also includes a dog barking, which is...

Sound Effects

For my still image video project, I talked about how to plan a trip to Disney World. Sound effects can enhance your video and make the listeners further understand what is happening. There are three types of sound effects I will be including, which are:  -ambient audio, which is essentially background noise. -sound effect of a thing -sound effect of "not" a thing, which will be an object used to create the sound of something else. Ambient Audio  In Disney, there are a lot of crowds, therefore you can always hear people talking in the background. This audio is taken from a video I took inside Be Our Guest Restaurant, so you can hear chattering as well as subtle music.   Sound Effect of a Thing  Disney World is an amusement park, so you will hear the sounds of rides. I decided to add the sound effect of a rollercoaster. I could not find any good clips online so I decided to use my own audio from Space Mountain.  Sound Effect of a "...

Planning A Disney Trip

Still Image Video  For  my project, I decided to make an informative video of how to plan a trip to Disney World. I have a passion for Disney and have been there several times, so I thought I'd share some tips with all of you! Enjoy.

Audition Effects

Audition When recording audio, unnecessary sounds can get in the way. Using Adobe Audition, effects can be added in order to remove these intruding parts of the audio. Effects can also be added in order to enhance or set a mood that we want to portray to our listeners. These effects can be added to a entire track or to specific clips, and the edits are non-destructive if used in the effects rack. There are so many options to use in order to create a clear and creative piece!  Still Image Video   For my still image video, I talked about how to plan a trip to Disney World. Audio is never completely perfect when you record, so you can use effects to help it sound better. Here are some ideas of effects I could add to my audio:  Effect #1: Noise Reduction  In my room I have a fan that is very loud. You can hear it in the background of my audio, which is distracting when the important part is what I am saying. In order to remove this a...
