Fair Use  When using copyrighted material, it is important to give credit to the owner. There are certain instances that protect our rights and allow us to use copyrighted material, which is known as fair use. One instance, which is what allowed me to create this video, is creating an entirely new work using pieces of copyright material.  Video  To create this mashup between The Lion King and The Dark Knight Rises, I used Premiere to edit the two together. I used the audio from The Dark Knight, and the video from The Lion King. I listened to the audio and marked places where someone spoke, and found clips in The Lion King where characters spoke to match the audio. This was my first time using premiere, so there are a couple of parts of the trailer that could be better. For instance, there was only one woman speaking in the audio and there was only one very short clip of Nala speaking so I had to repeat the clip multiple times, which could have looked better. Introduction   Last night I interviewed my friend Trent. He decided to tell me the story of how he discovered he had a learning disability and how he was able to work through it. Throughout his story, Trent paused, used filler words such as "um", and gave too much detail in some parts, therefore I had to cut these things out for the final audio.  Audition  Audition allows you to create multitrack sessions in order to edit audio without destroying the files. So to begin editing, I created a multitrack session and dragged my audio files into it. My original audio of Trent telling his story was located in track one, and the edited audio track was located in track two. I used the razor tool to cut portions of the original audio out and dragged them into track two, and then used fades to blend the sound between the clips.
